 hen:** Sunday\, December 18th at 1 pm\, will run from ~ 1 - 3 pm.\n\n**Whe
 re:** Meet outside Porter Square T Station. \n\n**What:** Let's get out in
 to the thicket of the holiday shopping and talk to folks about why we need
  to transition to a plant based food system! We are aiming to use this eve
 nt to recruit new members to our Animal Rebellion AG and to get folks to t
 ry out going vegan for January (so called "Veganuary"). In the first porti
 on of the event\, we will go over how to have conversations about plant ba
 sed food systems. We will do outreach around Porter Sq. and then hop on th
 e red line and do outreach around Harvard Sq. Talking points and hand outs
  will be provided.\n\n**Why:**\nThe climate crisis is here\, it’s happen
 ing\, and we need to act now. We know the key solution is a transition to 
 a plant-based food system - we have no choice but to do everything in our 
 power to make this happen. For climate justice and animal justice\, let’
 s come together\, use our collective power and change everything.\n\nFrom 
 Our World in Data:\n\n"Half of the world’s habitable land is used for ag
 riculture\, with most of this used to raise livestock for dairy and meat. 
 Livestock are fed from two sources – lands on which the animals graze an
 d land on which feeding crops\, such as soy and cereals\, are grown. How m
 uch would our agricultural land use decline if the world adopted a plant-b
 ased diet?\n\nResearch suggests that if everyone shifted to a plant-based 
 diet we would reduce global land use for agriculture by 75%. This large re
 duction of agricultural land use would be possible thanks to a reduction i
 n land used for grazing and a smaller need for land to grow crops. The res
 earch also shows that cutting out beef and dairy (by substituting chicken\
 , eggs\, fish or plant-based food) has a much larger impact than eliminati
