 \, and how quickly? Who should make sacrifices\, and why? What kinds of cl
 imate activism are effective and morally acceptable? How do we become hope
 ful\, empowered\, and effective? How do we balance our own interests\, the
  interests of the global poor\, the interests of animals\, and the interes
 ts of future generations?*\n\nIn these times of climate crisis\, few quest
 ions could be more important. Yet\, these issues and others like them rema
 in under-explored\, or too often made overly academic. Join us in reading\
 , talking\, and acting our way through key questions to better address the
  challenges of climate change!\n\nEach week's readings will be posted here

  a week ahead of time. Prior to the event\, please make an effort to do th
 e reading at least once\, but don't be discouraged from coming if you can'
 t get around to it - there will be a recap included at the start of each s
 ession.\n\nWe will be meeting every other Wednesday: Each meeting will cov
 er a different topic. Although we would love to see you for the entire ser
 ies\, you do NOT have to attend all sessions! Light snacks but NOT dinner 
 will be provided. Please feel free to bring your own dinner! There is a mi
 crowave and utensils available.\n\nCOVID POLICIES: Masks and vaccination a
 re encouraged but not required to attend. The Democracy Center runs air pu
 rifiers in the space at all times
