202 Days at the State House Stand-Out

Join in celebrating the longest, continuous climate action in MA!

Since June 5, 2023 XR Boston has facilitated a "State House Stand-Out for No New Fossil Fuel Infrastructure" in collaboration with Scientist Rebellion, Our Revolution Massachusetts, Mothers Out Front, 350 Mass, 350 Newton, XR Youth, Elders Climate Action Mass, and Sustainable Wellesley. Every business day, climate activists stand at the entrance to the Massachusetts State House, pressuring the government to ban new fossil fuel infrastructure and take immediate, decisive action on the climate crisis. The Stand-Out has been featured on numerous radio shows, and the efforts are reported in a daily blog: https://statehousestandout.wordpress.com/.

During the Day 202 celebration, attendees will write and deliver postcards together to Gov. Healey, House Speaker Mariano and Senate President Spilka and then proceed to perform a very public die-in on the ceremonial steps in front of the State House. The BABAM! brass band and XR choir will perform!!

Food will not be provided - bring your own snack and water bottle! This event will finish at 1pm, but you are welcome to stay longer for the rest of the Stand-Out.
