Extinction Rebellion Boston (XR) is part of a global movement that utilizes nonviolent direct action to demand that governments and corporations immediately respond to the escalating climate and ecological crisis. The first XR chapter was founded in the UK in the autumn of 2018, and Boston's group mobilized in the spring of 2019, making us one of the oldest and most established XR chapters in the USA.

Since then, we've taken stands to demand no new fossil fuel infrastructure, biological diversity protections, the end of dangerous substations in environmental justice communities, and more.
