[Solidarity] "Peaker Push" Rally Against New Nat Gas Plant

Extinction Rebellion (XR) Boston has been partnering with Breathe Clean North Shore in their fight against a NEW proposed fossil fuel power plant in their community. New fossil fuel infrastructure cannot be installed if we are going to hit the state's (insufficient) 2050 net zero goals - as they are built with the intention to last 30-50 years.

In XR's recent action at Governor Baker's house, we demanded that he conduct a health and safety assessment for this power plant before moving forward with construction. So now join us in support of Breathe Clean North Shore as they bring the fight to the doorsteps of the Energy and Environmental Affairs office!

The group is collecting signatures on their petition on Saturday Nov 13th and then at this action on the 17th, we're going to deliver a petition to Secretary Theoharides at a rally/press event at her office. Meet at 10am.

For this action, we need marshals, Red Rebels, 3 people to help with a banner, 2 sign holders, 1 person willing wear a power plant costume and another to put on an inhaler outfit. Please fill out this very short form if you are interested. It is going to be lots of fun. Thanks!
