Picnic Party to Celebrate Hanscom Defendants!

Saturday, May 10

On April 20 2024, 21 courageous rebels were arrested for disrupting private jet flights at Hanscom Field, in protest of a massive proposed expansion that would cancel out 70% of all solar photovoltaics in the state of Massachusetts. Since that day, they have undergone a series of court hearings together, and many of them are moving forward into an unprecedented climate trial. The first trial selects its Jury on Tuesday May 13, and we'll gather at the courthouse on Wednesday May 14 to support the first defendant, Brian!

Join us from 1 pm to 3 pm on Saturday May 10 for a Pre-Trial Picnic and Party to celebrate all the defendants and share community on a beautiful spring day. This is a potluck, so bring vegan food or drinks to share. While we eat, we'll enjoy a performance of original Thoreau-themed poetry, watch a skit where butterfliees battle billionaires, and we'll dance a fun new version of "Hot To Go" - with lyrics about private jets!

This is a family friendly outdoor event. Remember to wear sunscreen, bring your water bottles, and carry camping chairs or blankets to sit on.
