Moderna, put your money where your mouth is!

Only 14% of people in low-income countries have received a COVID vaccine, compared with 70% of people in wealthy countries. This is an egregious crisis of human rights and racial justice, and a threat to people everywhere as variants mutate and spread. A broad coalition in Massachusetts, organized by People’s Action and Justice is Global, is building a campaign for vaccine justice and ending global vaccine apartheid. The main target is Moderna – they’re headquartered right here in Cambridge – one of the worst actors in putting profit before ending COVID-19 and stopping needless deaths. They are refusing to share vaccine technology with over 100 companies in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) who are capable and ready to produce vaccines to protect their people. This has led to a staggering loss of human life and the spread of dangerous new variants worldwide.

We can end this pandemic by raising our voices and putting public pressure on Moderna to share the vaccine recipe. On April 28th we will rally outside of Moderna’s headquarters to demand that they share their vaccine technology with the world. They cannot continue to profit while low and middle income countries still do not have access to the covid-19 vaccines.
