Red Rebel Day of Action: the Funeral for Nature
XR Boston will be participating in the Red Rebel International Day of Action on Saturday April 20. It is also our first die-in of the season! The event will start at 2pm on Saturday April 20. Meet us at the Boston Public Garden entrance at the intersection of Arlington and Boylston streets near the Arlington MBTA green line station. Together we will move through the Common and environs as a funeral procession with die-ins emphasizing wild life. Feel free to come dressed as the animal of your choice.
This event will also contain a seahorse funeral, courtesy of our friends at the Puppet Free Library. If this interests you, please sign up here.
The Red Rebel International Day of Action is focusing on the death of life on earth. From the organizers in Bath, England:
Around the world, biodiversity is being annihilated at a terrifying rate. We are entering the ‘sixth mass extinction’ event and the consequences could be catastrophic if we do not act swiftly. In spite of promises from governments, biodiversity loss shows no sign of slowing. The future of our planet is at stake.*
The rain date is Sunday April 21.
We do need marshals for this event. Please contact vernalpoole@yahoo.com if you are interested. It will be great practice for marshaling at our big Earth Day event, on Monday April 22.
