[Solidarity] ISO-NE Consumer Liaison Group meeting
Please join the No Coal No Gas Campaign for the December 4th Consumer Liaison Group Meeting! You may attend in-person (at the Colonnade Hotel noon-3:30pm or online 12:30-3:30pm). This meeting will be focused on the election of new members of the Consumer Liaison Group Coordinating Committee (we call it the CLG CC), and they need your help to continue to hold this space for grassroots leadership. Attendees will also hear from someone from FERC, along with at least two ISO New England Board members. These officials will speak AND take questions.
Two years ago, our campaign staged a “ballroom coup” when we elected 6 fellow activists and several allies to serve on the CLG CC, which is responsible for planning CLG meetings and setting the agenda for our conversations with New England’s electrical grid operator (ISO New England).
As a result, the CLG meetings shifted from an industry-insider brunch club to a vibrant space for dialogue and community power regarding the operation of New England’s electrical grid! Our current CLG CC representatives have been fantastic at pushing ISO New England (the grid operator) toward a just transition. Now, it’s time to defend their CLG CC spots and elect even more activist members!
We know that the legacy fossil fuel interests that have long controlled the space are furious about how we have transformed it. We need your help and your vote both to defend the progress we have made and to continue to drive change.
IMPORTANT! You must register to participate in the meeting here. The in-person attendance registration deadline is noon on November 27th. There is no deadline to register for online participation.
We are finishing up our recommended slate of Coordinating Committee members, and we will post this slate for voting in an event entry for the December 4th CLG meeting on our No Coal No Gas calendar page. Please check that page for the slate and join us to pack the Coordinating Committee (we’ll also be posting info about an in-person gathering in Cambridge that evening, which is open to anybody who wants to join us!).
