The Great Northeast Gas Forum Disruption

On June 8th-10th, “The 31st Northeastern Natural (sic) Gas Forum is the premier event where over four hundred of the Natural (sic) Gas Industry’s leaders gather in Boston for 2½ days of networking, insights, & deal making.”

The gas industry has successfully framed methane gas as a clean and natural alternative to other fossil fuels but in reality it is 80 times more potent than carbon dioxide at trapping heat over a 20 year period. Our high energy bills and war in Iran has proved that methane gas is an unreliable, expensive, volatile and dangerous energy source. Governor Healey and the Mass House’s solution is to cut $1billion from MassSave, the program that helps residents convert to renewable energy and away from fossil fuels. Eversource made record profits in 2025 and now is strong arming politicians to cut the program that would speed the transition to a cleaner more affordable future.

We will let the gas industry know that they can no longer dictate the future of Massachusetts. The solution to high energy bills is not to add more gas pipelines, but to move as quickly as possible to renewable energy.
