- The climate crisis is here with unprecedented low over the last three months causing the longest drought on record and destructive wildfires across the state, extreme heat wave in the summer, and major storms and floods in the winter.
- Ecosystems are collapsing: Scientists agree that we are undergoing the sixth mass extinction. Every species, including the human species, plays and important role in Eath's ecosystems and global conservation effort is more pressing than ever.
- Only about 5% of the land and 1.5% of the ocean are protected from logging, mining and other extractive industries, a far cry from the 30% nationwide pledge
The climate and nature crisis are interconnected. The world around us is changing faster than we could have expected or prepared for.

There is no time to waste. Urgent action is needed. Extinction Rebellion demands that leaders must
- Declare a climate and ecological emergency now.
- Immediate moratorium of commercial logging, drilling, and other extractive industries from conservation land and waters.
- Restore and expand critical habitats, focusing on endangered species diversity.
- Prioritize Indigenious knowledge and leadership in the planning and execution of these efforts.
