Climate Communications Workshop

This is a workshop for everyone who wants to learn how to better speak, write, and/or post about the climate crisis and about the climate activism movement!

Join us from 11 am through 3 pm on Saturday November 16 for XR Boston's Climate Communications Workshop! This workshop is open to all members of the climate movement, and we encourage folks from other organizations to participate. We will provide a vegan lunch, but feel free to bring a side dish to share (please label ingredients)!

There are so many ways to communicate about the climate crisis and the effort to fight it. Between social media, traditional journalism, outward facing language like newsletters and websites, and internal language that we use with other members of the movement, every image and piece of language can be strategic. In this Climate Communications Workshop, we’re going to crowdsource a toolbox of strategic communications techniques. Communications professionals from the climate movement will share the tips and tricks they use, we’ll share with each other what works for us, and we'll talk through what challenges we’re experiencing.

No prior preparation is necessary. We encourage participants to bring a notebook to take notes!
