[Solidarity] Earth Day at the Weymouth Compressor Station

Saturday, Apr 23

Join Fore River Residents Against the Compressor Station (FRRACS) for Earth Day at the Weymouth Compressor Station Event on Saturday, April 23 (rain date Sunday April 24) from 10 am to 1 pm.

This action is a response to the “cold comfort” decision issued by Chairman Glick of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on January 20, 2022. He said the FERC had “likely erred” in granting their certificate to build the compressor station in Weymouth, but there was nothing FERC could do about it now. He offered “cold comfort” to the residents who live nearby.

The event will start with a procession on the Fore River Bridge at 10 am with Red Rebels in the lead, followed by allies, faith leaders, and citizens of Weymouth, Braintree and Quincy.

Post procession, in the abutting Kings Cove park, an invitation to all candidates running for Governor and AG to speak on climate disruption as part of their campaigns.

The action will close with a picnic.
